Junior League

Junior League is made up of 3 divisions of Northumberland and Durham Clubs and swimmers aged 9-12 participate. Teams in each division swim against each other in "rounds". The top 6 teams gained from points over the 4 galas in each division go forward to a final, the bottom 2 in each division are relegated to the division below and the top 2 in Division 2 and 3 promoted. The winners of the final go forward to represent Northumberland and Durham at the National Final. Newburn swimmers and parents are really noisy at these galas which are great fun to attend. Team's are generally selected in January and team sheets are posted on the notice-board. The team always travel together on a coach to each gala. New rules with respect to age group categories: Swimmers who are aged 9 - 12 on or before 24th JUNE 2012 are eligibile to swim in the Northumberland and Durham district rounds/ final. This is the date of the N&D area final. Therefore some swimmers may be competing in the same age group as 2011. ALL swimmers who meet this criteria are allowed to swim,
